# Best Extra Tall Floor Lamps for Tall People Source: https://tallfolkpicks.com/best/best-extra-tall-floor-lamps Updated: 2026-10-02 Publisher: Tall Folk Picks. Our score is an editorial rating out of 10 (fit 35%, features 25%, build 20%, value 20%), not a customer rating. Method: https://tallfolkpicks.com/how-we-research#our-score A standard floor lamp tops out around a height that throws light into your chest when you stand and glares in your eyes when you pass. In a room with taller ceilings, an average lamp also looks stranded, lighting the floor while the upper space stays dim and flat. The lamps gathered here run taller than usual, with poles and arching arms that lift the shade well overhead. Reach for adjustable or arc designs so you can send light down from above rather than into your face. Tall lamps usually go by a few names: torchiere lamps shine light upward to bounce off the ceiling, arc lamps curve over a sofa or chair, and tree lamps have several adjustable heads on one pole. For rooms with high ceilings, a tall torchiere lights the upper space and makes the room feel even, while an arc or gooseneck lamp is better for reading. Look for dimming and enough brightness, since tall ceilings spread light thin. ## Picks ### 1.
