Anti-fatigue mat
A cushioned floor mat placed at a standing desk to reduce leg and back fatigue, useful for tall users who often stand at desks set higher than average.
An anti-fatigue mat is a cushioned floor mat, usually made from foam, gel, or rubber, placed under the feet at a standing desk to reduce the strain of standing on a hard floor for long periods. The slight give in the material encourages small shifts in posture that reduce fatigue compared to standing flat-footed on tile or concrete.
Tall users tend to stand at desks set higher than average once the desk is correctly adjusted, and standing at a taller, more upright position for long stretches can put extra load through the lower back and legs. A supportive mat does not fix desk height on its own, but it does reduce some of the day-to-day discomfort of standing work.
Thickness and firmness vary a lot between mats, and a mat that is too soft can actually feel less stable underfoot for a taller, heavier frame. Look for a mat with beveled edges to avoid a tripping hazard, and check the size against how much you actually move around at the desk, since a mat that is too small will not cover normal shifts in stance.
