Tall sizing (LT, XLT)
Sizing labeled LT or XLT that keeps a regular chest and waist but adds roughly two or more inches of length to the torso, sleeves, and inseam.
LT stands for Large Tall and XLT for Extra Large Tall, and both describe a sizing system that keeps the chest, shoulder, and waist measurements the same as a regular Large or Extra Large but stretches the body length, sleeve length, and often the inseam to match a taller frame. It is different from simply buying a bigger size to get more fabric.
This matters because sizing up in a regular line adds width you do not need along with length you do, which leaves shirts baggy at the chest and pants loose at the waist just to get a few extra inches of reach. True tall sizing solves the length problem without changing the fit everywhere else.
Not every brand uses the LT or XLT label consistently, so it helps to check the actual body length and sleeve length in inches rather than assuming the letters mean the same thing across brands. People who are tall and slim usually get the best results from LT or XLT sizing, while people who are tall and broad may need to compare it against big and tall options instead.
